Twin Sisters Named Valedictorian and Salutatorian at Nation’s Oldest HBCU Graduation

Some milestones stay in the family.

Tia and Jasmin Criss, twin sisters from Mount Airy in Philadelphia, shared the stage as valedictorian and salutatorian at their graduation from Cheyney University in Pennsylvania.

Their achievement marked a new chapter for the nation’s oldest Historically Black College and University.

The Criss sisters share a love of tennis, restaurants and movies. At graduation, they also shared the honor of representing their graduating class.

They earned the roles through high marks, community engagement and overall character.

The twins also credited their mother and late father for putting academics first.

Tia and Jasmin each plan to pursue an MBA at West Chester University starting in the fall.
