Most teenagers worry about one graduation. Logan Wolf is heading into several.
The 19-year-old from Arkansas earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the American College of Education, along with associate degrees from two additional colleges, in the weeks before graduating from Gravette High School in Gravette.
“It feels incredible,” Logan told PEOPLE. “But it almost doesn’t feel real, too! I don’t even think my high school fully believed us, when we told them that I was on track to earn a bachelor’s degree while in high school.”
Logan said he took college classes alongside his regular high school coursework throughout all four years of high school.
“After sports, I would come home, eat, clean up, do some chores, and then work on a college homework assignment or two,” he said, adding that he believes “going slow and steady in my college progression helped a lot.”
He said his parents helped him stay on track.
“My parents regularly checked my coursework and grades to help keep me on track,” he said.
Logan also played soccer, football, wrestling and track. He told PEOPLE he competed in three of those sports at the All-Conference and-or All-State levels.
“It was challenging to take multiple, upper-division college courses each semester. It was challenging going to school year-round, too, as I never got a semester off,” he said.
He said he came close to giving up during a stressful period before finishing the degree.
“I was really starting to feel burned out going into my senior year,” Logan said. “One weekend, during the fall semester … I was out of town visiting my grandparents. I was feeling a lot of stress, and it hit me all at once.”
“I called my dad and told him that I wasn’t sure I could finish my bachelor’s degree during my senior year. I really wanted to quit. He understood and told me to focus on one assignment and one class at a time. He reminded me how close I was to the end, and that it was normal to feel that way,” he said. “I didn’t quit, even though those last few courses were really hard.”
Now that he has finished the degrees, Logan said he feels like a “huge weight has been lifted.”
“I am very proud,” he said, adding, “It is amazing how completing something hard like this can create a rollercoaster of emotions in you.”
Logan told PEOPLE he plans to join the Air National Guard and may work as a firefighter. He also said he wants to keep studying.
“I still plan to go to college for a technical degree. I want to earn a master’s degree too, and I am interested in becoming an officer in the military,” he said.
For now, he said he plans “to be a normal teenager with a normal summer job,” over the next few months.
“I also want to ride my mountain bike, kayak, explore and endlessly fish,” he said.
Logan also thanked the people who supported him over the past four years.
“I just want to thank my parents, my grandparents, the rest of my family, my girlfriend, Keira, my best friend Porter, and all of my other friends, teammates, coaches, teachers co-workers and so on who helped support me,” he said.
