New York Police Rescue Calico Kitten From Car Engine — Twice in One Day

A kitten rescue in upstate New York turned into a repeat job.

The Town of Seneca Falls Police Department said in a Facebook post on June 14 that an “adventurous little kitten” had made its way into a vehicle’s engine bay.

With help from Chris Knapp of Stever’s Garage and police officers, the calico kitten was removed, People reported.

But the rescue did not end there. Once out of the first car, the kitten ran off and squeezed into the engine compartment of a second vehicle parked nearby.

Police said the feline “decided it wasn’t quite ready to be caught.”

Officers and Knapp then began a second careful rescue effort. “After a little more teamwork and patience, the kitten was safely rescued and is doing well,” the police department said.

The department also thanked Knapp for helping with the rescue. “A huge thank you to Chris for lending a hand and helping ensure this furry friend had a happy ending,” police said.
