Hope For Paws Rescues Collapsed Doberman Penny and Funds Critical Medical Care for Recovery

Penny was lying in a pile of leaves when Hope For Paws got the call.

In a recent video, the pet rescue group said a local resident alerted rescuers to the Doberman, who had collapsed. The footage shows rescuers finding Penny, approaching her carefully, and gently putting a leash around her.

Hope For Paws said the rescuer could tell from the start that Penny was “a gentle soul.”

After taking her to safety, the group gave Penny a bath and then passed her to the medical team for an examination. Hope For Paws said vets found unusual bone growth in Penny’s leg, and that she needed more medical procedures to work out a diagnosis.

The group later launched an online fundraiser to help pay for Penny’s treatment. Hope For Paws said the campaign has raised more than $4,800.

As of the video, Penny was at Los Angeles Animal Rescue waiting for adoption.

In the comments, viewers thanked the group for helping her.

“Thank you for saving her and getting her all the necessary medical care!” one user wrote.

“I’m so glad you were able to rescue her,” another said.
