A tiny kitten that got stuck in a storm drain in Destin, Florida, has gone from cold and scared to safe and adopted in the span of a few hours.

Destin Fire Rescue said crews were called around 11 a.m. after reports that a kitten was trapped in a storm drain near 1080 Highway 98.

Firefighters found the kitten cold, hungry and frightened. One firefighter climbed into the drain and brought the animal safely back up.

The kitten received medical care after the rescue and now has a permanent home too. One of Destin Fire Rescue’s captains decided to adopt it.
