Some teachers leave a mark.
Miss Lopresti left 50 years of them.
From 1976 to 2026, the beloved Grade 2 teacher spent her entire career at St. Margaret School, helping generations of children learn, grow and feel cared for.
On Friday, May 29, 2026, the school gave some of that love back.
They called it Miss Lopresti Day.
The celebration began in the schoolyard with a crowning of Mary, followed by a mass dedicated to the longtime teacher. Then came the part that felt like a living scrapbook.
Students packed the auditorium to perform songs, poetry and skits in her honour. Each one offered a small glimpse of what Miss Lopresti has meant to the school community after five decades in the same classrooms, hallways and morning routines.
There was even a fire truck.
The Narberth Fire Department invited Miss Lopresti into the passenger seat for a drive-by, giving students and staff another chance to cheer for the teacher who has spent half a century cheering them on.
After retiring this school year, Miss Lopresti still plans to return to St. Margaret School in a smaller role.
So the goodbye is not quite goodbye.
It is more like recess.
She is stepping away from the front of the classroom, but not from the school that became such a big part of her life.
