Some birthday plans are quiet. Spurgeon “Butch” Carlson’s involved jumping out of a plane.
The 105-year-old Navy veteran went skydiving in Barre, New York, on Sunday afternoon as part of his birthday bucket list.
Carlson did a tandem jump while family, friends and members of the community watched.
“I didn’t think he would dare, but he says he’s going to do it, ‘I can do it, I can do it,'” said Mickey McAvoy, Carlson’s eldest daughter.
For his 104th birthday, Carlson said he took his first horseback ride with his 99-year-old brother.
According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the oldest person to parachute was 106 years old.
