Dolly Parton Launches New Coffee Brand After Taking a Break From 9 to 5

Dolly Parton is turning her famous “cup of ambition” into an actual coffee brand.

Inspired by her Grammy-winning single “9 to 5,” Parton is launching Cup of Ambition, a new signature coffee brand. The lineup includes light, medium and dark roasts.

The first offerings will debut at the grand opening of Dolly’s Tennessean Travel Stop in Cornersville, Tennessee, on June 24. The travel stop is about 60 miles south of Nashville off Interstate 65 at Exit 22.

People who attend the grand opening, or visit the travel center, will be among the first to sample Cup of Ambition. The blends will be available for purchase nationwide in ground and K-Cup offerings later this year.

“I’ve spent a lifetime workin’ 9 to 5, 5 to 9, and every hour in between! It takes a lot of energy to pursue your passion and navigate each day,” Parton said in a statement. “That’s why I wanted to make a coffee that works just as hard.”

“You know, I begin each morning with a head full of dreams, a notepad full of ideas, and a cup or two of coffee. Whether you’re chasing dreams, tackling that to-do list, or just enjoying a quiet morning at home, I hope it brings a smile with every sip,” Parton added.

Dolly’s Tennessean Travel Stop has been described as a “roadside destination built around comfort, care and Tennessee hospitality.” It will feature food, merchandise, live music and Cup of Ambition coffee.

According to reporting from The Tennessean, part of the USA TODAY Network, the travel stop combines Tennessean Travel Stop’s legacy of service with Parton’s cultural influence.

A “large-scale celebration” will mark the grand opening on June 24, with a week of celebratory events to follow on July 4.

“I have spent the bulk of my life on the road, and more specifically on a bus,” Parton said in a news release. “All the years spent visiting greasy spoon cafes, truck stops and roadside pit stops have given me an understanding of what travelers desire on the road.”

Design details, including the layout, have not yet been released. The revamped travel stop is expected to feature modern amenities, curated dining and regional retail offerings. Its logo incorporates Parton’s silhouette with a nod to traditional truck mud flap designs.

The space is expected to include fuel stations for cars and trucks, truck parking, EV charging stations, a trucker’s lounge, general store, Doggy Parton dog park, restrooms, a restaurant and cafe, Cup of Ambition Coffee, DLY BBQ, a main stage, Murak, Tour Bus, a back patio, and an upstairs lounge and event space.
