The 2026 World Cup is getting three opening ceremonies, and Katy Perry will headline the one before the first U.S. game.
FIFA says Perry will perform at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, on June 12 before the United States plays Paraguay.
Rappers Future, Lisa and Tyla, singer Anitta, singer and rapper Rema, and DJ Sanjoy will also be part of the ceremony.
In Canada, Michael Buble and Alanis Morissette will be among the performers at the opening ceremony in Toronto on June 12, before Canada opens its tournament against Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Other Canadian artists in the lineup are Jessie Reyez, Alessia Cara and William Prince.
FIFA has announced separate opening ceremonies in each of the three host countries for this year’s tournament.
The ceremony before the tournament opener between Mexico and South Africa at Mexico City’s Azteca Stadium on June 11 will include Tyla, singers Alejandro Fernandez, Danny Ocean, Lila Downs, Belinda and J Balvin, and the groups Los Angeles Azules and Mana.
Ceremonies are scheduled to start 90 minutes before kickoff.
The 2026 World Cup will feature 104 matches across Canada, the United States and Mexico, and runs from June 11 to July 19.
FIFA president Gianni Infantino said the Toronto ceremony will be a “powerful reflection of Canada’s identity.”
“Through music, culture and unforgettable performances, we will welcome the world with a celebration that is uniquely Canadian while also connected to a larger story unfolding across Mexico and the United States,” Infantino said in a statement.
“It will be a moment of pride, unity and anticipation as Canada takes its place on football’s biggest stage.”
