A goal celebration usually lasts a few seconds. Tomasz Skublak used his to advertise his real estate business.
The Inter Toronto forward scored from a half-volley in the 50th minute against Atlético Ottawa, then pulled off his gloves, took a business card out of his sock and held it up to the broadcast camera, gesturing for potential clients to call him.
Alongside soccer, Skublak works as a real estate agent in the Greater Toronto Area, a job he said he took on while trying to build a professional career.
“I’m playing here at Inter Toronto full-time as well as being a full-time real estate agent,” he told the broadcast after the game. “So, I pulled out the business card, get some free advertising going, put my name out there. If anyone needs a house sold or bought, just reach out. More than happy to help, whether it’s on the pitch or off the pitch, I tend to do the job right.”

Skublak, who is from Ontario, played for the University of South Florida before returning home and playing semi-pro. He signed with Canadian Premier League club HFX Wanderers in 2019, then moved to Armenia and Germany in search of top-division minutes.
He later returned to North America and again played for semi-pro clubs before signing a one-year deal this year with Inter Toronto, formerly known as York United FC.
He scored a second goal in the win over Ottawa and is now tied as Inter Toronto’s top scorer with three goals in four matches.
