Mountain Lion Cub With Missing Toes Rescued After Being Found Alone in California

A mountain lion cub that was rescued after it was found alone in the wild was finding comfort in a sloth plushie while healing from a foot injury at a Bay Area zoo.

Adorable video posted by Oakland Zoo shows the kitten, named Crimson, playing with the stuffed animal.

It remains to be seen if the pair will become as iconic as Japan’s Punch the monkey and the cuddly toy he used as a surrogate mother.

“Sloth didn’t stand a chance!” the zoo joked on X as the cub clearly won its play fight.

“Hospital keepers are making sure Crimson is staying mentally and physically stimulated as he grows and his foot heals, then he’ll meet Clover,” they said, referencing another orphaned mountain lion being cared for at the zoo.
