A group of bull elephants got stranded on the wrong side of the fence at Tsavo, and conservation teams stepped in to guide them back.
Kenya’s Sheldrick Wildlife Trust shared video on Instagram from its main account, @sheldricktrust, showing a joint rescue with the Kenya Wildlife Service. According to the post caption, “This band of bulls was trying to get home, but found themselves stuck outside the park fence. In a joint response with the Kenya Wildlife Service, we gave them safe passage.”
The video showed two teams working together. A ground team cut large openings in the fence so the elephants could pass through, while a pilot guided the bulls to the right spot from the air.
The trust said rescues like this matter because “operations like this help prevent human-wildlife conflict, part of our ongoing work with the Kenya Wildlife Service to protect elephants and the communities who live alongside them.”
