A bride in Somerset made room for one very special guest in her wedding plans, her favourite Swiss cow, White Chocolate Button.
Victoria Lee, 37, said she wanted the cow to play a part in her big day because “she is pretty much my best friend”.
Lee was transported to the village of Mark on a tractor before making the final part of the trip to church on White Chocolate Button. She was flanked by her bridesmaids as bride and cow made their way to the church.
“I grew up on my family’s farm in Dorset and we weren’t allowed ponies so I started riding cows,” Lee said.
“I thought, why not train White Chocolate Button to take me to church.
“I also tried to train [my other cow] Basil but she didn’t want to do it so we left her alone.
“She tried to roll me off.”
White Chocolate Button had already taken part in other events at the farm.
“She’s used to being dressed up as a ghost for Halloween,” Lee said.
“She gets a bed sheet put over her with eyes and ears cut out, so she’s used to it.”
After the ceremony, groomsmen formed a guard of honour outside the church holding up a selection of farming tools.
While guests made their way to the reception nearby, Lee and her new husband Mike went back to the farm to milk the cows before joining the festivities.
Guests at the reception entertained themselves for a couple of hours while the couple milked the cows immediately after the ceremony. The newlyweds joined them later that evening, without White Chocolate Button.
