It was quite the moo-ving rescue in Dorset on Sunday morning, after a bull named Fred got stuck in a pond.
A fire service said crews from Weymouth and Gillingham came to the aid of Fred after he was found trapped in the 1.3 metre-deep pond in Milton on Stour.
Firefighters used spades and shovels to create a safe pathway. They then used rescue strops and the farmer’s telehandler to help pull the bull back on to dry land.
Fred “was none the worse for wear and was soon reunited with the rest of his herd”, the fire service said.
